We celebrated Lainey's first birthday the weekend before her actual birthday. It was so much fun planning but I was so emotional. I could not believe that my teeny tiny baby was already one.
I really wanted this day to be special, even though I know many will say that she won't remember. That's not what is important. What is important is that this little girl is the best thing to ever happen to me and I wanted a big celebration.
We had her party at Joe's Crab Shack on the Sea Wall in Galveston. It, of course, poured rain the first hour of her You Are My Sunshine party, hence the frizzy hair, but it turned out to be a wonderful day.
Here are the first round of photos.

Food. We had a wonderful selection of fish, shrimp, crab balls, french fries, onion rings, crab nachos, chicken tenders, cheese sticks and tons of dipping sauces! |

this is Lainey with my best friend. It's eerie how much alike they look. |

She cheered the entire time. I was so worried she would hate the party but she enjoyed every single second of it! |

And...she loved the fire! |

her first taste of cake. Ever.
We had more people turn up that I thought. It is so amazing to be witness to how many people love your child. It makes me feel so blessed that people came out in the monsoon of a storm to celebrate my baby.
So, happy birthday sweet girl! |
