Trust your Instincts

Well, I did it. Against my better judgement I tried the Chinese restaurant here in Springhill, La. First of all, I think it's run out of an old Ace Hardware store. Second, when we paid, our change was $4.  The girl gave us $3. Seriously. I guess four is too high to count. Just for that, no tip. You aren't supposed to try to steal your tip. And finally, the food. Horrible. Probably the worst thing I've ever tasted. I seriously think I ate someone's pet for lunch. Bobby and I had to stuff ourselves with Blue Bell ice cream and sweet tea. Moral of the story: when it comes to Chinese food, trust your instincts. Oh and if you walk into any restaurant and notice that it's a $5 buffet, just turn around and walk out. It's the best thing for you.

On a different note. Bobby and I went to one of my favorite places on earth last night: Barnes & Noble. The last  book I read wasn't so great so it's been a while since I've picked up another one. But, I bought one and ordered one last night. And, yes, one of them is Confessions of a Shopaholic. Make fun all you want but I have to read it before I see the move. And, yep, I'm gonna see the movie!

Welcome to Pizza Hut, The Best Restaurant in Town.

Bobby and I are working the same office right now, hopefully that won't change too much when construction starts. It's nice because it gives me someone to go to lunch with. The town we work in is so small that Pizza Hut is actually the best place to eat. There is a buffet/casino/gas station, a Chinese buffet that I'm scared to try, and a burger place that sells their food out of a sno-cone building. So, that leaves the following options: Pizza Hut, Sonic and Subway. Yep, that's it.

Also, surprisingly, my distain for Wal-Mart has slowly started to fade. Bobby and I pretty much go there everyday during our lunch break, you know, with the lack of sit-down restaurants and all. It's not crowded, the workers speak english and they don't get mad when you ask for help...It's almost hard to believe!  Maybe Louisiana isn't so bad after all.

We just found out yesterday that we won't be getting our furniture until, hopefully, Sept. 27. We'll thank Ike for that. But, I'll post pictures as soon as we get it!

Here are a few from Jason's visit:

Living it Up in La, not LA...

Bobby and I have finally settled into life here in Louisiana. Things started out a little rough. It's harder moving from a one bedroom/study to a three bedroom house than I thought it would be. We have finally purchased all new furniture, minus my TV, and are waiting delivery.

Things here are great. I'm trying to figure out why they call Texas the "Friendly State" because I didn't know what friendly was until we made this move. During the hurricane, I went to buy some ice and Wal-Mart was out...a lady actually spilt her 6 bags of ice with me and took three and let me have the other three. Talk about friendly!

We've started working and are getting into a routine. The bad thing is that we have to be up at 5:15 a.m. It's rough! I'm pretty much recovered from surgery and I'm dying to get back on my treadmill and to get back to normal things!

Well, Bobby took my camera from me for work with promises of buying me a new one...hopefully soon! So, pictures will come later.
