Junior League & Giveaway

Hey Ladies --

Curious...are any of you members of Junior League? I was invited to an informational meeting for the Junior League in my area. There are two chapters near me. I'm very interested in joining but I wanted to see what your experiences were with JL. I definitely don't want to let this opportunity pass me by. I have an option to go to one of two JL meetings next week and I'm excited but for some reason...nervous!

And speaking of Junior League, Misadventures of a Newlywed is having a super-cute giveaway that I'm sharing with you all!

Pretty sure I need the pink pair, right?! Check out her all-too-hilarious blog!

So not fair

I'm stuck at work while my husband -- who just flew in last night -- and brother are getting ready to go the water park. Tell me how fair that is!?

Tonight we have no big plans but just hanging out. I want to try to talk my husband into the Papadeaux Seafood dinner that we missed out on last weekend and to maybe a movie. Tomorrow is my nephew's first birthday party!!! I'm so excited but I still can't believe he'll be 1. I still remember driving my sister to the hospital!

Tuesday...we move into our apartment! That means no more living at my parent's house, husband will finally be officially back from Mississippi, no more sharing a bathroom with a 13-year-old boy and that I can finally walk  around the house without a bra! Oh the luxury...

Also, since I've quit my job, I've decided I'm going to try to get together a little business to do some freelance work. I want to do freelance print design, freelance writing and anything else I can get my hands on. I've got a few years experience and I'm in love with InDesign and have used it in every job I've had. So, if you ever need any work done, just lemme know!

Have a great weekend lovelies!

Ok, Ashton, come out! This CANNOT be real life!

Do you ever feel like things get so crazy or people act so insanely annoying that you have to ask yourself, "OK, is this real life? Or am I being punked?" The last few days have been so crazy I literally feel like Ashton is going to jump out at me any minute!

One thing I can say is that I found a newfound appreciation for my degree and I truly believe that everyone should have a PR representative. Even if you think you don't need one, you are probably the one that needs representation the most.

We've been working on this tab (special section of the newspaper) for local homebuilders and they are in desperate need of some major PR! I understand smaller companies can't hire major agencies to take care of all of their marketing and press but they can definitely hire a freelancer or a small company or even a part-time, as needed rep. Because take it from me, my husband is an engineer, and they just don't think along the creative lines. I actually have a builder who brought in 4 other people to help him! Four! Another builder, a sales guy from the golf course and a Remax agent...these people had me running in circles. I was so frustrated yesterday, I took a two hour lunch (shhh!). Not one of these people had good input and had NO idea what they wanted to do -- ok I lie, the golf course had  their marketing director give me stuff on the course itself but NOTHING ELSE.

Ok, I know this is probably nothing but nonsense to you ladies, but I'm just trying to air my frustrations -- It's a difficult thing to write clearly when my heart is beating so fast I swear it's skipping beats!

Maybe I should start my own small-scale PR group...Anyone want to hire me?

I  know I still haven't put up pics from the boat trip this weekend and I need to. I've just been glued to the computer at work and haven't felt like getting on at home...Soon though because I've got some cute ones!

Insanity!

The past couple of days have been crazy! I've had so much stress at work, and "home" hasn't really been any easier. I literally feel like someone is stepping on my chest and won't get off. We are still trying to get things in order for our move and with work being so crazy I don't have time to sit on the phone with personal calls...which is all I feel like I've been doing.

But I promise...A picture update of the weekend soon! And hopefully and update on what the hubs and I will be doing with our lives...
