Junior League & Giveaway...again!

Last night was the introductory Junior League meeting. I loved it and I'm definitely going to join. I talked to Bobby and his only concern was that I'd be busy 7 days a week. I'm sure there will be busy times but for now, as a provisional member, I just have meetings twice a month -- which I don't think is bad. I'm really excited to be a part of this and can't wait until my orientation on the 10th!!

The house is coming together great! We were able to move our closing date from August 20 to August 14 so we should be in soon. Our lender said he can give us a definite date as soon as he get the appraisal report next week. I'm seriously so excited it's consuming my thoughts!

The stunningly gorgeous Aubrey at Made you Blush is having a very cute and girly giveaway! You mu st head over to check it out because I don't want to tell you what it is :)

I'm excited for today because I'm only working a half day! We are headed down to South Texas to see Bobby's family this afternoon. It's been a while so I'm sure it'll be fun.  Have a great weekend ladies!

Big Boys!

Jeremiah got his first big boy seat today! I can't believe  how fast he's growing up! I still remember buying his first car seat and now he's already too big for it! Well, hopefully his momma will save it for his baby sister or brother that he so desperately needs!

This is my cousin Xavier. He just entered the Army and had his promotion ceremony today in Oklahoma. He's graduating boot camp and heading to Maryland where he will receive his first orders...You should see how proud my grandpa is! And doesn't he look so handsome in his uniform?! My sister thinks he looks to skinny...

And yeah...that's three blog posts for me in one day! I'm sooo bored at work!

Oh yeah...and tonight is the Junior League meeting...Pray for me! I hope it goes well and that I can join! I'm just going to the introductory meeting so I'm not even sure what it's going to be like!

EXECUTED!

We talked to the real estate agent last night and we finally have an executed contract! The house is ours! We had the inspector go yesterday morning and hopefully our lender will schedule the appraisal in the next few days. The inspection went great! The house is in great condition! Hopefully they can hurry up and get packed and get out of my house so we can close soon! I know that was a lot of exclamation points, but I'm super excited!!!!!!

We also booked a trip to Vegas last night for Bobby's 30th birthday over Halloween weekend! We've never been so we are really excited about that, too.

Have you ever been to Vegas? We need tips and/or suggestions.

By the way, I decided to stay at my job. Since we aren't moving so far away anymore, I figured there was no point in leaving. I was really nervous to tell my boss  that I could stay and basically beg for my job back, but they were really excited and glad to have me stay.

Tomorrow I'm taking a half day from work and we are heading to Bobby's home town. It's been almost a year since we've been back. We don't go often because most of his family has moved away and now his grandpa is the only person who lives down there. But we are going for a visit...should be interesting :)

Survey

Fun Survey Game

I got this idea from Heather over at Live. Laugh. Love. Copy/ Paste it to your blog and lets see your survey answers too.

1) How did you and the hubby/ fiance meet?

At a bar...or in his words, "the honky tonk." We were both out with friends and he came over, extended his hand for me to go dance with him and he's been stuck with me ever since.

2) If you could do any job in the world, what would it be?

I would love to be one of those hippy-esque people who do odd jobs. I want to design marketing material, cards, invitations, be a photographer, plan weddings and events and kids birthday parties...

3) What are your and your hubby/ fiance's dreams for the future?

Well, we just started the process of buying our dream house! We are hoping to move in soon and start having babies in a few years and we both want to travel.

4) Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging last year when the husband uprooted us for his job and we left Texas to spend 6 months in Louisiana and 6 months in Mississippi. Just a way to keep connected I guess.

5) Who do you look up to?

This probably sounds bad but I don't really "look up" to anyone. I admire my husband because he is so loving and works very hard to support us. I admire my sister because she's an amazing mother and my Aunt for the same. I'm very much a pave-my-own-way kinda girl. I firmly believe that the outcome of your life if completely determined by the choices you make.

He knows me so well...

This morning Bobby has been running around getting things done on the house and things that he needed to do now that he's back home. He was getting his truck washed this morning and he sent me below email while I was working.

"I'm sitting close to a family with a little girl (7 or 8) and she just

said, "I'm getting sweaty just sitting here. I'm going back inside."

Of coarse I thought of you."

Oh how well he knows me...I've said it before...NOT a fan of summer!

Houses, Haircuts and Hangovers

We got it! We got the perfect little house! I'm beyond thrilled. Last night we went over to meet the owners and it has so many great features that we weren't even aware of! The entire house and backyard is wired for surround sound (major bonus for the hubs!), they are leaving us ALL of the pool supplies so don't need to buy more, there are fans outside operated by a remote, a greenhouse (even though I'll probably kill everything in it), sprinklers set on timers, an alarm system that includes the garage...The house is ah-mazing! Both sides are super motivated to make the transition. We have an inspector going out there at 9 am. I asked if we could move in with them until they have time to move out...they didn't go for it.

I took Macee to be groomed for the first time yesterday and she doesn't even look the same! I think the second picture looks like a puppy mugshot! Haha! I didn't want to get rid of her super cute hair but I felt bad because she could hardly stand to be outside. I'm definitely going to have to keep her short during the summers.

Last night we went out for $2 margaritas again...Not a good idea. I think I was so excited about the house and so happy to see my friends again and I had way too much to drink...and I'm feeling it now. No more cheap tequila for me!

Will someone please just make this happen!

NEWS FLASH: Husband and I just put an offer on another house! I'm so excited but I'm really trying not to get my hopes up. I think circumstances with this one are a little different because the  house is actually built so hopefully everything will work out for us.

We thought we were not ready to make the move out of the city but decided here recently that maybe we are more ready than I thought. There are quite a few nice suburban areas outside of Houston -- especially in West Houston -- but when it came down to it for me, I knew what area we wanted to be in. I really didn't want to move out to the west side because I want to be close to my family. Especially when we have kids! So we made an offer on a house, with a pool and jacuzzi!, in a town just a few minutes north of my family! I'm so excited -- the house is absolutely perfect! Hardwood floors, 4 bedrooms three and a half baths, two car garage and brick carport, great neighborhood, great school district (for the kids people can't see me raising), big yard for the pups. It's love...

This is me not getting my hopes up...

Bobby is working on the last few details of everything and hopefully we can close soon.

So, say a little prayer for us that things will work out this time!

Happy First Birthday, Jeremiah!

Today is my nephew's 1st birthday so I thought I'd share a few pictures of him from the last year.

Jeremiah is quite possibly the sweetest thing I've ever come across and I can't imagine what it would be like without him. He had a rough go at it when he was first born but he pulled through like the strong little man he is.

So, Happy Birthday Jeremiah! I love you, Auntie Stevy

Tonight my sister and I are taking him to Kemah to ride the train for his bday. I wanted to post pictures of his birthday but I didn't bring my camera to work so the pics are at  home.
