Girl Crush & Lucky or Just Mean?

It's been a busy couple of days! After work on Wednesday I went to get my nails done and the "spa" that I go to is pretty nice. It's not actually a spa, it's just a really nice nail salon. While I was there, this group of women came in and we (yes, that includes me, how friendly am I?!) started talking about celebrities we liked, mostly female. My two celebrity crushes?
Amy Adams from Enchanted! Yes, I know she's in more than that, and call me crazy if you want, but I love that movie! She's so stinkin' cute!

And Isla Fischer! Even though I could not have been more disappointed in Confessions of a Shopaholic, I love her! Seriously, isn't she the cutest thing ever!? Apparently I have a thing for redheads! Haha! My Grams has reddish hair and I've always wanted red hair, maybe that's where it stems from. Plus, I wouldn't being as tiny as Isla...

Who is your girl crush?

Yesterday I hit the road to come over to Mississippi to see my honey. I hit up the drive as I often do whenever I'm on the road. There is something has been happening to way too frequently: I constantly get extra food! For instance, yesterday I went to Jack in the Box -- I love their chicken box -- I ordered a chicken box and a larger sprite. I get to the window, pay my $3 and pull away. I never look in the bag, ever. So, as I get on the road, I go to pull out my chicken box, and what do I find? A chicken box and piece of cheesecake! Hello, torture. Last time I went to J&B, I ordered the same thing, plus regular fries and I got what I ordered plus two burgers! However, I love the kids meals from Wendy's and last time I went there, I only got 3 nuggets instead of four! This is so not good luck for me because seriously, free cheesecake while I'm in the process of trying to look like Isla Fisher. This is just mean, right?

Finally, my wonderful husband bought me a new, small, portable camera to carry around so that I can post more photos on my blog! Thank him, I did! So, that means, more pictures for all you ladies to see! My other, absolutely wonderful, camera is just so big, I can't take it everywhere! So, I'm off to get some work done and enjoy the weekend!

Enjoy the weekend, lovely ladies!

Puppies & Photo Shoots!

All I'm going to say about yesterday is thank you. I appreciate your responses, and I refuse to be negative or sad anymore.

So, the house hunting was no bueno! The house was surprisingly ugly! It was really old and need way too much work, and if you don't know, I'm so not a mrs-fix-it. Neither is the hubs! My stepmom, dad and brother went with me to look at it and I wish I could have recorded my dad! He was so funny telling the poor guy everything that was wrong with the house! I think my brother got a little embarassed.

After the house hunting, we stopped by my cousins house. And I re-thought the idea of having kids. Her son was literally jumping on me. From the couch to my back. The little girl was basically performing some kind of "mokey-see, monkey-do" routine because then she started! It's no wonder we hadn't seen them in a while. To give her credit, she does have 3 kids under 5 years of age! Isn't that crazy? I have to admit, I did want mine all back to back though. Not so much anymore.

Today, Jaci had to go to the vet to get her teeth cleaned. She's hilarious. She thinks the vet is punishment. So, this is my little drama queen after I brought her home.

I couldn't resist and I had to get one of Macee, too. I love this because she running around trying to get Jaci to play with her and she was really tired and thirsty but looks like I'm smothering her. What can I say, I love my babies!

We also had a photoshoot today at work. It was lots of fun. About a week ago I got to spend a day shopping for white on white china patterns that we thought were nice. So, we picked a few and held the shoot today. We had thousands of dollars worth of luxury china and only managed to break one teacup. I was impressed. It was really funny because the three of us from the magazine were all in the midst of a breakdown and the photographer, who does amazing work, was so calm and collected. I guess it wasn't her behind on the line for breaking the borrowed china though...

Mama Drama

Well, I did have a good post today about my driving experiences in Houston and some cool photo-shoot stories, but that's to be delayed. I had quite the conversation with my mother today. You see, Bobby and I are looking to buy a house somewhere in the Houston area. We will be first-time buyers are really excited. Since we'll be moving around for a few more years we are just looking for a sort-of starter-home in a nice area. Being that Bobby is in Mississippi, I am having to look on my own. I found a great house that I really wanted to check out. It's a for-sale-by-owner and the owner is a man, so, obviously I didn't want to go alone. I thought that this being our first home, it would be something a mom would like to tag-along to. So I called and asked my mom if she wanted to go sometime this week (not: could she go, and I didn't specify a day). She didn't say, "Well, I took today off to spend the day at the house, can we go later this week." or "Well, I really just wanted to say in today." Nope. She said "You know, I never ever get a day off and now that I have one, you want me to drop everything to go with you. I am never at the house by myself. Ever." So, hearing the anger, I guess, in her voice, I said, "mom, you don't have to yell, I didn't even say today, I said this week. But it's fine. I'll get someone else to go." And she got mad at me! UGH! I thought she would want to go though. I mean, I have tons of family that would go and when I told my grandma about it yesterday, she offered to go. I just thought it would be fun to have my mom come and spend some time and maybe do dinner after. Then she sent me an email to tell me that I only call or come over when I want something and that we never do anything together.

I just get so upset because she does this, then apologizes and I have to forgive and forget, she is my mom. But then it happens again. Now she's calling and calling and I don't want to deal with it and I don't know what to do. It's just not fair and I wouldn't let anyone else treat me this way. I understand people have bad days and she's probably in menopause, but I don't think I should catch the wrath of that for trying to spend time wtih her. I'm not usually a very sensitive or emotional person, I like to have control over that, but I am literally a mess right now! I'm just confused and hurt. But, hey, it happens to the best of us, I guess! I'm not really sure if this is something I should be writing about or not, but you ladies are always so supportive and encouraging. So, hopefully this won't come back to bite me in the behind!

Sorry for the depressing post. Sometimes you just gotta vent. On to happier and more sarcastic things tomorrow!

Also, I'm thinking about doing a giveaway for my 100th post. Any ideas, suggestions or tips? Comment or email me!

XOXO,
Stevy
