The Devil does not wear Prada, she is, in fact, an interior designer

Today I have to go back over to see the awful woman who made me cry on Tuesday. My very sweet ad rep took her revised story to her on Wednesday so I was able to skip out on that visit, however, I have to go today to pick up any revisions. These dinosaurs don't know how to use fax and don't have an email address. I'm really nervous because I feel like I can't really speak up and defend myself because of my position. I would hate to offend her and then her pull her ad and I lose the paper money. I still think the things she said to me were uncalled for and completely inappropriate. Hopefully I'll have a new job before her story comes back around in march.

I got this way too sweet email from my dear friend at work when I told her I was going back out to visit the meanies:

Stevy,

Just a few words from the Bible to cheer you up.!!!!!

Deuteronomy 31:8

The LORD is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not

leave you or forsake you.

Best wishes,

Ana

So please say a little prayer for me today. I definitely need it, I'm about to cry just thinking about it...

Tonight my grandpa is throwing himself a surprise birthday dinner. Yes, you read that correctly. He's throwing himself a surprise birthday dinner. I'm excited to see my family!

This weekend will hopefully conclude the wallpaper tear down. It's been a nightmare! You think the wallpaper I posted yesterday was bad, you should see the other restrooms! I don't know what this woman was thinking! But, I plan to finish 2 restrooms this weekend. Also, my furniture should be coming in this weekend! Woohoo! Other than that, no big plan...

Happy weekend ladies!

I heart Fall

IT'S 74 DEGRESS!!! Woohoo! I love fall! And I love the fact that today's high is 85. Yes, I know that's still warm, but this is Texas people. I love me some fall! Please send in the cold!!!

Thanks for your wallpaper tips...I tried the fabric softener thing and the good thing is it takes the back part of the wallpaper down, the bad news? I can't get the front part off to even get to the back part! B realized I was doing it wrong so today I'm going to attempt the right way, plus, I'm going to Home Depot to buy a fabric steamer.

My goal is to get all of the wallpaper down in two of the three bathrooms by Sunday. Hopefully this will be accomplished.  So, I decided to show this beast of heinous wallpaper that must come down...

Isn't that awful! Sorry it's turned funny, I had to get the amazingly gorgeous boarder in there!

I tested out a few paint samples I bought for the kitchen, bathroom and living room. Guess what....I didn't like any of them! I'm not sure what I'm going to do but I'm thinking about calling in HGTV to bring on some help!

Tonight, I will see if I can find anymore paint samples that I like and attempt again to get some of this paper off! Happy Thursday all!

I caved...

I signed up for Twitter. Yes, I'm a self confessed, social media junkie. I haven't twittered yet but my best friend set me up with an account so I can read what all the celebrities were saying about the Taylor/Kanye drama. I love celebrity gossip. We'll see if I get into it, I can't really figure it out. All I know how to do is follow people...

Do you guys twitter? I feel like such a dork for even saying it! Haha!

Yesterday is over and I'm so happy today is here! I have to deal with these awful clients at work who literally suck the life out me and make me feel so defeated. Luckily it's only one account out of nearly 30  that make me feel this way. It's these two awful old ladies who are so incredibly mean and snotty that there must be a special place in you know where for them. I've never had someone be so outright mean to my face. They were so mean that I couldn't even react. Isn't that awful!?

Yesterday I came home and tested out the paint color for my living room.  I wanted a turquoise color but what I got was a little too blue. Its' really a gorgeous color, it's just too blue for what I want. They I went into one of the restrooms and tore down wallpaper for nearly 3 hours...I'm about halfway done! This is going to be exhausting! We heard that you can paint white over the wallpaper then paint over with the color we want to actually use. have any of you done this? I'm so sore from tearing the WP down...my back, arms and shoulders are burning!  But I'm not gonna lie...it was kinda fun.

So, tonight I think I'm going to Lowe's to see if I can get some white paint and see what it will do if I paint over the WP.  And I need to pick up a few new colors. I also tried out the colors for the kitchen and restroom and I'm not crazy about them either...

let me know if you have any tips on  picking colors, painting or tearing down wallpaper!! I could use all the help I can get, even if it is just digitally!

Boo for today!

UGH!!!! That's me screaming! Just a warning...I'm not in a good mood! I had the worst day ever today! I found out that I'm getting roughly 6 new pages a month -- which is a lot more than it sounds like, I'm annoyed with the people around me and I got insulted by a 9,000-year-old woman today and couldn't say anything back. I'm beyond frustrated, mad and humiliated. I want my husband to be home tonight so we can lay on the couch and have wine but instead, I'm going home alone because he has class. Boo for today!

What Budget?

This weekend B and I got lots of shopping done...LOTS! We bought our living room furniture, our dining room furniture, some makeup for me, and a super cute dress from VS.

This is the China cabinet I chose for our dining room...gorge, no? Along with the table and chairs. We didn't get the server because I don't think we'll have room for it. Our dining room is a nice size, but it's not huge.

For the living room I got two of these chairs from Pier One. I love them! I also got a charcoal colored couch but I couldn't find a picture of it. It's like a deep grey color that almost looks black. We also got some extra throw pillows to match.

We also spent nearly 3 hours at Lowe's buying a lawn mower and other yard necessities. While we were there I picked up a few paint samples. I got a really light turquoise blue for the living room to brighten it up, a deep, slate green for the kitchen, a rose color for a our bedroom, a really pale pink for the guest room and two options for the restroom, a bright green or a bright orange/gold color. I will try to get some samples on the walls so you can tell me what you think. The office will get painted white and the den will get left the tan color it is now. I also, at some point, want to get all of the baseboards repainted white.

I'm doing the painting myself. Call me crazy, but for some reason I'm totally excited about it!!

Tonight I have my Junior League meeting and tomorrow I'm going to start ripping down the wall paper! I want to paint the restrooms first. The rooms with the heinous wall paper will the first to get painted!

Here is my problem...we have a lot of hallway space and I'm not sure what color to paint it. We loved how our house in Louisiana was painted and i kinda want to echo that but I don't remember for the life of me what the hallways were like...

B has been hard at work getting our lawn presentable. I'm excited for the finished product! Yesterday evening we took a break from all of the shopping and had my sister, brother-in-law and nephew over for dinner and some football watchin'. It was a blast...I love being so close to them!

Oh, and not like this actually needs to be said. But Kanye sucks at life.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
