Pain the neck!

So, for like the last 10  years I've had terrible back pain. Like stay-in-bed-and-not-move kinda pain. I attributed part of the pain to my ridiculously huge boobies. I remedied that last year and still have some pain. It's all in my upper back, along my spine and up to my neck. People have been telling me for years to go to a chiropractor but I'm terrified! So scared that I think they'll break my back or something...

So, my question you...Have you been to a chiropractor before? If so, how long have you been going? Any specific questions I should ask to make sure I'm not getting a quack? Are they really rough when they adjust you?

I'm really nervous but I think I might finally cave and get my back cracked.

I've been seeing a chiropractor for the past 5 years or so once a month. It's been really good for me. Make sure they have their certification posted somewhere in the office. Try to get a recommendation from a friend and let the chiro know you were referred. I had really bad TMJ and back issues from a horse riding accident and it's all cleared up now thanks to my chiro doctor. I always feel better after appointments!
I hope this was helpful!

I came across your blog and just wanted to say how much I loved it! I’ve never been to a chiropractor either… it’s for the same reason you haven’t. Good luck!!!

Sorry you are hurting. I've never been to a chiropractor, but I have heard they can do amazing things. Good luck!

I've been to a chiro on and off for years. i loved going to mine back home. you definitely walk out of there feeling 100% better. plus, if you have frequent headaches, it helps that too!

I have a chiro and I LOVE him. Getting my back cracked or realigned is the technical term feels so awesome.
I defiantly believe in chiropractors.

Do it!

I do believe there are some quacky chiropractors who think adjusting your back can help you lose weight and such. However, the one I went to is AWESOME. He is very sweet (Mormon, million kids) and very popular.

I can tell a BIG difference when I get to go to him (and Marcie) regularly. My hips are more aligned and less sore during workouts.

Let me know if you go!

I go when I am hurting!!! Should go more often I think, then I would not hurt...It is funny when they say "just relax" (I am about to twist your head until it pops) wow, that is hard to relax for!!! BUT it does feel better afterwards.
I think some are more rough than others but my back feels much better after an adjustment.

Yes you have to go! I have huge boobies too but I'm also a marathon runner...and those don't mix well. They physically can’t break anything! They do not put enough pressure on your bones to break any thing. The key is they put you in odd positions and the use gentle pressure to align your body back up. Some people pop and crack, and some don't even make a sound. The key is to just relax and breathe like they tell you to. Afterwards you will feel better than you have in years. Go, you will feel so much better!

I've never been. I've heard once you start going you have to go for life.

I have a herniated disc in my lower back and the chiropractor is very much my friend. I worked for one in college as well.

When I was playing tennis in college (still play tennis a lot but college tennis is in a whole other world), I had to go to the chiropractor every week my senior year. It helped so much! My spine gets out of alignment and he popped it back in place everytime. I really like the stem treatments, too. Felt so much less tense and less pain after every appointment. So worth your while!
