Who needs kids?

Especially when you have the two most spoiled and complicated dogs on the planet! Yesterday I had to take Jaci and Macee to the vet because Macee has been really itchy and has had really watery eyes and Jaci because...well, she's fat.

Turns out, Macee has allergies. Yes, allergies! Seriously. So now I have to give her eye drops for the watery and redness and an antihistamine for the itching. Are you kidding me!? Then I got told by the vet that Macee was way too spoiled and out of control. She actually gave me a free download for a Dog Whisperer video! My Macee is perfect! The doctor wants me to hold Macee down on her side once a day until she stops crying and squirming...without me crying. It's horrible to hear her little cries!

When it was Jaci turn, they put her on the scale to tell me that in a weight category of 1 to 5 she was a 4.5, mean she's excessively overweight. It's only 4 pounds people! I had to buy special diet food for her. Isn't that sad? I think it's because husband switched them to wet food and, at four-years-old, started feeding Jaci twice a day. She packed on a few and now needs to get down to 10 pounds. It's kinda sad really.

So, apparently, I'm a terrible mother! My babies are spoiled rotten. I told Bobby I think that it's all because of Chloe dying last March and now all I want to do is protect them and let them have the best life they can while they are here. Well...I'll be sure to keep you updated on the unspoiling process. I wanted to take pictures last night but I was seriously about to cry and couldn't even think about taking pictures of that...

Haha, love this post. Pets do become a member of the family and I love that your babies are spoiled. = )

My mom's Shih Tzu's (all 3 of them!) have allergies, too. That breed is prone to allergies, I guess. And Foxxy is a bit on the heavy side, too. The vet told us she can't gain anymore weight or we will have to put her on special food, too. Don't feel bad.

King Arthur has horrible allergies, too! And Chief is definitely on the verge of being a fatty. I hate being told that I am a crappy dog mom!

i just came across your blog and this had me laughing! thats horrible that your dog has allergies. my aunts dog was allergic to grass. my uncle HATED it because they had to carry him through their yard to a dirt plot for him to play! (and it was a big dog!)

don't worry too much about spoiling your dogs! they need it! :)

Girl, I have an overweight cat on a low carb diet who will only eat wet food that includes garden greens. And who also happens to have gingivitis because he's allergic to his own tooth enamel and therefore takes an antibiotic and gets mouth wash everyday. Add on a heart murmur to all that and you have a fat, stinky breath, spoiled cat. :)

The vet said if pets get too fat they can be diabetic. And then you have to give them insulin. We better get these fatty pets under control!

i think it's great you spoil you babies, they have cute names! our little gus is spoiled as well...he has 6 toy bins.
i think i should bring my gus in to the vet and see if he is over weight. we also switched him to wet food since he stopped eating dry food and he seems a bit plump these days.

My dogs are spoiled too! One of my dogs was from a shelter and she was totally emaciated when we got her. A few months ago, my vet said she was borderline overweight (I call it fat and happy). The vet suggested giving her canned unsalted green beans for snacks instead of treats and that seems to be helping with her weight.
