Big Day...Coming Soon!

As most of you know, I work a really crummy job, but, for a lot of money. Part of the reason is that doing this job is going to allow us to pay off all of our debt and store some away for the future. Financially, this job is a great opportunity and sort of life changing.

So, the big day that's coming? Friday I will pay off my car! I'm so excited! Last week we paid off my husbands car and now mine! I'm so excited! By January, we will be completely debt free! It's the ONLY way to be! It will be nice when I actually get to keep the money I make!

The person I thank for all of this? Dave Ramsey! About a year ago, Husband became nearly obsessed with his radio talk show and we bought his book and began living the Ramsey way of life. I can't even begin to tell you how much this  book has helped us and has changed our lives!

If you've got debt and are willing to sacrifice a little, I strongly recommend his book. Thanks to Dave, we will have paid off edited to read: a lot of debt in not a lot of time! Yeah, I know. It was A LOT of debt. But, I did go to a private college for 2 years, so between two brand new cars, 2 college educations, credit cards...it adds up. But now it's going away! Like I said, sacrifice is crucial!

The Total Money Makeover

Looking forward to Friday!!!

XOXO,

I also love Dave Ramsey. I read his book about 3 years ago, but I need to re-read it. We've paid off all our credit card debt, and one of our cars, so now we still owe on one car, student loans, and our mortgage of course.

We no longer have credit cards, but I would love to be more aggressive in paying off debt. I think your post was just what I needed to start thinking about it again!

I am flippin' obsessed with Dave Ramsey. We use his envelope method of spending only cash and we have stashed SOOO much in the bank since we started. It is really just amazing. We still have our credit card (hello, we must shop online!!), but we pay it off in full every month. It is just an awesome feeling to really be in control of our finances and not have them control us!

Wow! That's Huge! I used to be in love with Dave Ramsey! For real. When Financial Peace came out I went to a book signing and have my picture with him along with my autographed book! Haha! What a dork I was! But the lessons paid off! Dave has certainly helped a lot of people. Congrats on your success!

Oh girl! Dave Ramsey is like the third person in our marriage. I think Jordan is even going to his seminar in January. Debt free living is nice though. I do enjoy knowing that even if something happens to one of our jobs, we can make it. It's a good plan.

Hmmm....the chart memory is still vague, but you know what I do remember? Our lovely Christmas tree! Did we get a picture of that classy thing?

That is great! My manager just started providing this courses to our workforce. I work for a company with over 3500 employees (Southwest Research Institute) and it is me and my boss' job to create new programs and incentives for our employees. The Dave Ramsey courses have been a huge success!!!

Congratulations!

That is absolutely amazing. I always listen to Dave Ramsey on his radio show on the way home from work and I've been talking about getting the book, but now I'm going to go get it on my way home from work.

Congratulations to you and the hubby, that is a huge step!

Wow! To say I'm impressed is putting it mildly.

I still have some student loan debt and a car loan and I need to pay that off. Maybe I should look into this book and see what all the fuss is about!
