I So Wanna Be a Snow Bunny!

While we were gone, we took a little trip, a mini-vaca have you, to Crested Butte, Colorado. Yep, home of Heidi Montag, er Heidi Pratt. It was absolutely gorgeous! I was, however, the only girl on the trip.

The first day, I swear, I thought would end in divorce. The Hubs and I joined our friends on the "bunny" slopes where they all thought they could teach me how to ski. Keep in mind, I'm not the outdoorsy type. Halfway down the slope I pretty much decided that was it for me. My plan was to spend the next 4 1/2 days trotting around town in my cutest winter clothes. Luckily for me, I was talked into taking a ski class. I did a private lesson with the guy the first afternoon we were there (yeah, I left the guys behind after, like, 30 minutes.  I was DONE!). He turned out to be a huge help and I was able to acquire some great moves. Ok, he really just showed me how NOT to roll down the hill.

The rest of the trip was a blast! We had dinner at the Timberline Restaurant where I met Heidi's dad, who assured me that the Hills was real life and that Spencer is not near as bad as they portray him. In other words, Heidi isn't as stupid as I thought. If I choose to believe him that is. Crested Butte looks like those Christmas towns people build in their homes with the little light up buildings you can buy from Wal-Mart.

People in Crested Butte were so laid back. Our waitresses were drinking beer and the guys in the grocery store had drunk pictures of themselves passed out. It was hilarious! My pictures won't upload, so I'll have to post them later!

I'm Back! And It's My Birthday!

Bobby and I took the last few weeks and spent some time in Texas with the family and took a little ski trip. So, I've got lots to post about over the next few days. Today, it's my birthday...Take a look at what the Hubs bought me:

This is my new baby. She is a Shih Tzu and her name is Chole. She's so sweet and so much fun. I think she's going to be a chewer because right now, she's definitely chewing my toes as I type.

The B-day won't be a big event this year. If you know me, I'm a big birthday person. I LOVE my birthday. But, the hubs works so much and I have no friends or family here so it's just gonna be me and my girls (dogs) today.

It was sweet though because every year on New Year's Day my grandmother makes New Year's lunch/dinner and everyone goes over to eat. This year, my Aunt and cousin made me a cake. It was sweet to be remembered.

Anyway, I'm off to enjoy my birthday! I love this day!

Gift Exchange!

The husband I decided to exchange gifts a little early. Since Christmas is such a huge deal in my family, we usually have a little Christmas a couple of days early on our own. This year, it was supposed to be tomorrow, however, my husband gets a little excited and wanted to give me my gifts early. So, for the last two days, I've been meaning to take pictures of my gifts to post. Sorry, that's just not going to happen. So see below, my wonderful gifts taken from the website!

1 CT. T.W. Celebration Diamond® Solitaire Stud Earrings in 18K White Gold - Zales
1 CT WT earrings from Zales...Love 'em! I couldn't get the picture to come out. I had the same problem when I first got engaged and tried to take pictures of my engagement ring...I also got some blue sweats and a gorgeous black robe from VS, that I can't seem to find on the website...maybe I'll take a picture of them later.I love presents!

Also, I made my grandpa some homemade caramel candy for Christmas...We'll see how they turn out. He used to hide his caramels when we were little and I always used to sneak them. I was the only (out of 12) grandkids who knew where he kept them. So, I thought this would be a pretty heartfelt gift. A guy he works with brought in a bag of caramels a few weeks ago and my grandpa called and said every time he eats a caramel, he thinks of me. So, hopefully, they'll turn out to be edible.

XOXO,
